Formed in 2015, our Litigation Support team brings together the expertise of some of the most widely experienced, technically knowledgeable and articulate partners in the firm, who relish complex financial and people problems.

Our litigation services cover warranty claims; matrimonial, tax partnership and director disputes; and acting as professional witnesses in fraud, professional negligence, tax and insolvency cases.

We have appeared in the Court of Session, Sheriff Courts and Tax Tribunals.

SPA/commercial contract disputes

We are regularly consulted to provide accounting diligence services in connection with sale and purchase agreement conditions, warranties and completion account information. We also assist in the financial resolution of commercial disputes.

Expert witness reports

We submit expert witness reports in relation to contract disputes, insolvency & fraud related litigation, disciplinary cases for the Institute of CAs of Scotland, and taxation cases.

Matrimonial and family disputes & valuations

We assist in calculating business valuations, investigating & interpreting account information and conducting financial negotiations, through referrals from family law solicitors and direct from clients.

Partnership and director disputes

For our own clients and through referrals from other accountants, we can advise on business valuations, mediate between the parties and assist in resolving disputes.  We will refer clients to solicitors where necessary but attempt to avoid prolonged litigation.

Building and construction disputes

We assist specialist construction solicitors in relation to building and construction disputes and contract debt collection.

Insolvency litigation

We will act at the instance of either pursuers or defenders in helping to arrive at a fair resolution in insolvency disputes.

Fraud, forensic tax & accounting investigations and reports

We have acted, primarily for the pursuer, in assisting with the financial investigation and construction of a case in relation to fraud, and tax forensic work for defenders; particularly Code of Practice 9 (COP9) investigations.
