The Proposal

At the outset, the reader will need to know whether your business plan is being written primarily to help raise additional funding for an acquisition or MBO, to finance working capital requirements, or to obtain longer-term finance to enable the business to expand.

Key Elements

This section should allow the reader to appreciate the amount of funding you are looking for, its purpose, and if possible, suggest the most suitable method of funding e.g. Venture Capital equity participation, long term loans, overdraft facilities etc. It is usually helpful to cross-refer to the other sections of the plan, particularly those that address financial matters and projections.

Recommendations

It is preferable not to give a detailed funding structure but to give a suggestion only.
