Background Information
The executive summary and the Proposal will have enabled the reader to identify and understand the key features of the business. The plan can now be developed and provide greater detail to the reader.
The introduction should include the following information as a minimum.
a. History of the business
b. Key personnel
c. Financial history of the business
d. Present financing arrangements
Key Elements
The reader should be given enough information to understand how and why the business has developed. The introduction should not be a definitive history of the business, but it must include key information on when the business started and how it has progressed since.
For a new business, the introduction will, of course, change in emphasis. It will focus upon the factors that have led to the need for the new service or product and identify, in outline terms, how your business will meet that need.
Recommendations
- Introduction should not be a definitive history, but should include key information on when the business started and how it has progressed.
