FINANCIAL DIRECTORS CONFERENCE
Campbell Dallas recently held it's annual two day Financial Directors conference at the Gleneagles Hotel, in Perthshire. Delegates included Financial Directors from companies across Scotland.
Delegates heard from guest speaker Gerald Ratner, who was the millionaire chief executive of the British jewellery chain Ratners jewellery. Gerald gave a first hand account of the demise of his multi-million pound jewellery business and how he has managed to put this behind him and successfully re-launch his career in a highly competitive market place.
The day also included 7 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) which covered issues such as corporate tax, international accounting standards, renewable energy and a debate with a banker and economist as to what went wrong with the banks and how to look to the future.
After the technical presentation on Thursday there was free time before dinner at 7:30pm. We arranged for all guests to attend the Gleneagles shooting school where they were split into teams to try their hand at clay pigeon shooting, archery and air rifle shooting.
